In this course, children will review letter sounds, practice lowercase and capital letter formation, and practice advanced blending skills. They will practice reading longer passages of text and increase their ability to read fluently. We will learn to decipher 25 high frequency, irregular words ("sight words") using innovative techniques to actually teach the word rather than using rote memorization.

Before beginning this course, students should be comfortable with lowercase letters, letter sounds, and basic blending skills. These are covered in Level 1: First Steps. If your child has learned letter sounds and begun to blend words, yet needs more practice with blending and reading material, this is the place to begin. 

This course contains 25 lessons. It is open-and-go, with only a few simple materials needed (like lined paper).  The lessons are loosely scripted, making each teaching point clear and concise. Each lesson is designed to be completed in 1-3 days, depending on your child's needs. The Student Pages contain  reading material, games, and activities to pair with this course. 

This is the instructor's guide only. While you can complete the course with only the instructor's guide, the Student Pages book is highly recommended. Level 2 of 6.
