In this course, children will learn essential phonics skills, focusing on digraphs and r-controlled vowels. They will also master 25 new high-frequency, irregular words ("heart words") using innovative techniques that teach the word rather than relying on rote memorization.

This course is designed for children who have mastered short vowel sounds and consonant blends. These skills are taught in Level 2: Bridge. If your child needs more practice with these foundational skills, we recommend revisiting Level 2 before moving forward.

Level 3 contains 25 open-and-go lessons that are loosely scripted and easy to follow, with step-by-step instructions for each teaching point. Lessons are designed to be completed in 1–3 days, depending on your child’s pace.

While the Instructor's Guide includes everything you need to teach the course, the Student Pages book is highly recommended. It contains reading material, games, and hands-on activities that pair with the lessons, making learning engaging and effective.
